“Heritage Festival” Dinner and Bake Sale
October 15, 2017 at BLC
Everyone gets to help celebrate and volunteer at our annual “Heritage Festival”. The dinner is served from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Turkey, meatballs, and all the trimmings (including a taste of lefsa) is the favorite menu. Tickets are available on Sunday mornings October 1st and 8th or the day of the event.
BAKE SALE - Everyone is encouraged to contribute your favorite recipe of baked goods for an enormous bake sale. A few craft items and Christmas cards made by the new “Card Making” group will also be available. Lefsa will be available until it is sold out. Get there early for the lefsa!! Bake sale begins immediately following the 8:30 worship service, approximately 9:30 am.
NEW this year – to help celebrate our “heritage” will be a Heritage Trail timeline. Created by Pastor Dennis, Dee Gulson, and Bruce Duncan, you can see the history of the church from its very beginning through Martin Luther’s time, and discover when Brandon Lutheran was established and what the future holds for us by following the stations set up along the Sunday School hallways. You will not want to miss out on this – a ticket for it comes with your “dinner” ticket.
Another New Addition - A Raffle for 2 quilts and an Adriondack Chair - Tickets are being sold now with the drawing to be held at 1 PM on October 15th.
This is our largest fundraiser of the year which helps support all of the benevolences that WELCA supports – both locally within our church, as well as the Brandon and Sioux Falls community. Thank you for your help and support

Ice Cream Social
Heritage Festival Dinner
Work Groups - All the women of the church are divided up into 3 Work Units. These units are called upon occasionally to help provide food and workers for funerals or other special occasions. You may only get called once or twice a year – depending on the need. This way all women have a chance to serve and the more active circle members don’t get overloaded with the work load.
